The Latest (ARG): Dreamers – Shine Bright Baby

Shine Bright Baby BannerShine Bright Baby. When I first heard the name, I chuckled and thought of a mainstream country pop group. Leave it to these four kids (all under 25) from Ohio to rock your world, both musically and spiritually.

Philippians 2:15 “…so that you may become blameless and pure, ‘children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.’ Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.”

Although the band was born out of no serious commitment, it can be surely said that Shine Bright Baby’s journey clearly displays God’s power to take you beyond your wildest dreams.

Since the band’s birth in 2007, turning heads has been part of their daily routine. Beginning as a rock/pop/worship group, SBB naturally stood apart from other indie acts in their hometown of Orrville, Ohio. Their nationwide following continued to expand up until this year, when the band took the next step in their dream when BEC (the record company that brought us bands such as Kutless, Jeremy Camp, and the O.C. Supertones) took Shine Bright Baby in as one of their own. Their debut single, “Beautiful Love” began playing on radios nationwide shortly thereafter.

Lead singer Emily Irene states, “A lot of songs today have so many negative undertones, and rather than writing a bunch of songs that wallow in struggles and hurt, we want to have these songs be lights to shine in the darkness…”

“We all come from church backgrounds, all leading worship at church at various points of life,” drummer Karl Wendel says. “Anytime we’re on that stage, our goal is to glorify God and worship through our instruments and voices, and hopefully in turn, help others be able to draw closer to God.”

Dreamers, Shine Bright Baby’s first full-length album and major label debut, releases to iTunes and stores everywhere July 23.
