Looking Behind The Song (PSB): Saviour Of The World – Ben Cantelon

It’s often interesting to find out your favorite new worship songs were not written by the people performing them but by someone else, who, when you hear their name you say:”who?”.

I first came upon Ben Cantelon hearing his material performed by Bethel Live – “Love Came Down”, which they called “I found a Love” (confusing huh? as they have a song Brian Johnson wrote called “Love Came Down). His new song, “Savior of the World”, is a fine piece of work both lyrically and musically. If you like Chris Tomlin you will probably like this. There is a similarity between the two as far as this work is concerned. All in all, it is a very enjoyable song that falls into that category between praise/worship and Christian pop.

“Savior of the World” is catchy to sing along to. It is more “about” God than “to” God, which may make it harder to incorporate into most worship services. But, it could still be done if your Worship team has a talented group of musicians. Definitely worth a good listen or two … so give it a whirl! Hats off to Ben! Keep up the good work. Your light is shining brighter every day!

John 3:16 ” For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” ~NIV~
