Looking Behind The Song (ARG): Heal Our Land – Planetshakers

The Planetshakers are known for their edgy, pop-driven vibe, covering genres from hardcore to piano rock to disco. The title track from their new record “Heal Our Land“, however, is a passionate musical ode that builds from a quiet rythm to a full-scale rock melody. The song is akin to the mid-tempo rock ballads that have become the foundation of CCM. And, like all of PS’s work, worship is the primary focus.

“Heal our land,
We need your love,
Restore us,
Restore us,
We need your touch again..”

The song “Heal Our Land” is an anthem of prayer; a plea that brings to attention humanity’s desperate need for God, and His hope, love, and direction. And while the need has been wholly rectified for those who have accepted God’s sacrifice, those who haven’t are still in lack.

It says in Romans 8:19-21:

“The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.”

Heal Our Land” is a promising foresight to Planetshakers’ new record, and an appealing addition to a Christian rock/worship set.
