Looking Behind The Song (NRE): The Same Love – Paul Baloche

Paul Baloche is back! Almost two years after his incredible worship song “Glorious,” this worship leader from Texas is releasing another powerful worship ballad. Although he has taken some time off from the recording studio, he has by no means taken a break from the music, leading worship and writing songs in Texas.

The Same Love” is a song of hope, intimacy, and courage. This same Love, who has done the many powerful things that we read in the Bible, has called us by name. God has called each of us His own. He willingly raises up the humble, the broken, and the weak! Baloche’s song reveals one’s internal battle. We often put up a fight with God, saying we’re not good enough, or we aren’t equipped.
The end of the song declares:

“We raise our white flag
We surrender all to You, all for You
We raise our white flag: the war is over
Love has come, Your love has won”

When we embrace the love of God, the war inside is over! We can find refuge and victory in the His love. God does not call the equipped; He equips the called.

Isaiah 43:1 “But now, this is what the LORD says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” ~NIV~

James 4:7-10 “So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it’s the only way you’ll get on your feet.” ~MSG~
